Forest School

At Castlemorton, we are extremely lucky to have a beautiful Forest School site within our grounds.  Forest School is a unique educational experience and process that offers children the opportunity to succeed and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland environment. Children engage in motivating and achievable tasks and activities throughout the year and in almost all weathers. Children will work with tools, play, learn boundaries of behaviour; both physical and social, grow in confidence, self-esteem and motivation whilst developing an understanding of the natural world.

Children in EYFS and Key Stage 1 take part in weekly Forest School sessions.  Red Class and Blue Class use Forest School to support their learning across the curriculum and also have the opportunity to join in with Forest School sessions at different times across the year.

In winter, warn socks and gloves will also be needed.  Forest School sessions can be very muddy, so please choose kit that is easy to wash and dry.  If possible children should have a coat that can be used just for Forest School.  We do have a number of coats and waterproofs that we can lend to children, please ask in advance if you would like to borrow a coat and or waterproofs.
